Of the last blog, I am aware that many took very differing career paths. The two who most obviously stuck to their career paths were Ellen A. Bradshaw (Art Student two years later in 1881) and Andrew Allan who was teaching in 1881 and a Lithography Draughter ten years later. in contrast Herbert Scarlett was working as a Butcher in 1881 and H.J. Callingham and  Anthony Aburrow were Labourer and Agricultural Labourer respectively.

A word or two about our young entrants...then more prizes

I have been able to find a thing or two about some of the young men in my previous blog. By looking into census records I found that by 1881, two years later, Ernest Benning was a Draughtsman's Assistant and that Alfred C.C. Schmitz was a Student of Painting. He went on to become rather accomplished, changed his name to Alfred C. Conrade and did some splendid paintings that still sell well at Auction Houses like Christies. Harry Crowhall Farrar had become a Ship's Draughtsman by 1891. Maintaining a nautical theme Constance Emily Bushell's father had been a Naval Captain and in 1881, Miss Bushell was still a scholar.

Forever onward...here are those awards for Crayon Drawings:

First Prize - R. Wills (address stated as mislaid)
Second Prize - William A. Greig, Leatherhead, Surrey

Certificates for Crayon Drawings
Andrew Allan - Ardrossan, Scotland.
Charles Preston Stevenson - Stirling, Scotland

Charles S. Lakeman - (no address)
